Having discussed the client’s requirements, Navitas specified, installed and project-managed a complete turnkey solution, comprising of a 60kW Windhager BioWIN Excel boiler package including an automatic suction feed system and de-ashing functions along with a 1500 litre Windhager AccuWIN accumulator tank, installed in a former stable, which was converted into a plant room and bulk fuel store, to hold 14 tonnes of wood pellets.

The boiler serves a Uponor district heating network, providing space and domestic water heating to a farmhouse, a cottage and a holiday let on the site, as well as hot water to an equine tack room on the farm.

The single biomass boiler replaces three individual oil-fired boilers, freeing up space in the properties as well as reducing the site’s annual carbon emissions by approximately 23 tonnes per year.
