District Heating Systems
Where multiple properties are located on the same site, it is possible to provide all space and water heating from a single heat-generating plant using a District Heating Network. District Heating Networks comprise pre-insulated pipes, laid in the ground between properties requiring heating and the heat source itself. For example, a district heating network could be used to heat holiday lets from a large boiler in another property, or to supply heat from a biomass plant room across a site. Such arrangements allow space to be saved in individual units, whilst providing an economy of scale by facilitating the installation of a single, large heat source as opposed to multiple, smaller plants.
Working with a several renowned manufacturers, Navitas are able to design and supply everything required to install district heating networks and are able to draw on our extensive experience to specify the right product for any budget or application, as well as providing advice and design services for each property’s connection to the network.
In conjunction with our sister company; Thomas & Thomas Building Contractors, we are also able to project manage and install your District Heating Network.
- Save space by heating multiple properties from a single boiler (oil, gas or biomass), which can be connected from anywhere on the site
- Easy to centralise fuel costs by metering supplies for tenants
- High levels of insulation yield very low heat losses, even over long distances
- Very discrete once installed; can be laid under gardens, driveways or yards.
